Privacy Policy

Friendspace LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company, operates Friendspace and is responsible for the personal information described in this Policy. This Policy explains what we collect, why we use it, how it may be disclosed, and your choices.

1. Scope and age restriction

This Policy applies to the Friendspace websites, applications, beta features, and related communications that link to it. Friendspace is restricted to adults age 18 or older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly permit or collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an underage person created an account, we may suspend it and delete the information, subject to legal and safety retention requirements.

2. Information we collect

• Account and verification data: name, email, birth date, password hash, acceptance and verification timestamps, settings, and account status.
• Beta recruitment and feedback: Beta applicant name, email, requested testing category, business, artist, band, or creator name where applicable, invitation status, and technical issue reports including the affected feature, description, reproduction steps, page, browser information, and our review record.
• Profile and User Content: username, biography, location, photos, video, audio, music, posts, stories, comments, reactions, connections, communities, messages, and other material you provide.
• Activity and device data: features used, searches, interactions, referring pages, timestamps, IP address, device/browser type, identifiers, crash data, logs, and security events.
• Communications and reports: support requests, abuse reports, appeals, copyright notices, and removal requests. An intimate-image removal request may include your legal name, email, relationship to the depicted person, content links, explanation, electronic signature, reference number, and our review record. We do not ask you to upload the intimate image through that form.
• Information from others and integrations: mentions, shared content, reports, and information received from services you choose to connect, subject to their settings and terms.

3. Sources

We collect information directly from you, automatically from your device and use of the Service, from other users, from vendors working for us, and from integrations or public sources where permitted by law.

Beta agreement records: When an applicant electronically accepts the Beta Confidentiality and Limited-Use Agreement, we record the agreement version, typed signature name, acceptance date and time, a privacy-preserving hashed network identifier, and browser/device information to document consent, administer the private Beta, and protect Friendspace's legal rights.

4. Purposes of processing

We use information to register and verify users; provide profiles, feeds, messaging, communities, media, discovery, and creator features; apply privacy and audience settings; personalize content; communicate service, security, and policy notices; detect fraud, spam, abuse, and security incidents; investigate reports and enforce rules; maintain, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the beta; comply with legal duties; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

5. How information is disclosed

• Other users and the public: according to the content, feature, and audience settings you choose. Public content may be copied or reshared by others.
• Service providers: vendors supporting hosting, storage, email, security, moderation, analytics, and operations, subject to contractual restrictions appropriate to their role.
• Legal, safety, and enforcement recipients: authorities, rights holders, affected persons, or advisers when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
• Business transfers: participants and advisers in a financing, merger, acquisition, restructuring, bankruptcy, or asset sale, with appropriate safeguards.
• At your direction: integrations and third parties you choose to interact with.

Friendspace does not sell personal information for money. We will update this Policy and provide legally required choices before using information for targeted advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, or another activity legally treated as a sale or sharing.

6. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies necessary for authentication, security, fraud prevention, preferences, and core operations. Before enabling non-essential analytics or advertising technologies, we will identify the providers and purposes and provide consent or opt-out controls where required.

7. Retention

Retention depends on the type, purpose, sensitivity, legal requirements, and risk. We generally retain account information while an account is active; content until deleted or the account closes; security and transaction logs for a reasonable period; and reports or legal records as necessary to enforce rules, prevent repeat abuse, resolve disputes, or comply with law. Deleted information may persist temporarily in backups and may be retained when legally required or necessary for safety and evidence.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed for the nature of the information, including password hashing, email verification, access controls, rate limiting, and transport security in production. No system is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining strong credentials and promptly reporting suspected compromise.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

You may update profile information, audience settings, and certain preferences through the Service. Depending on your location, you may have rights to know or access information; correct it; delete it; obtain a portable copy; restrict or object to processing; opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling; and appeal a denied request. We may verify identity and authorized-agent authority. We will not unlawfully discriminate for exercising a privacy right. Requests and appeals may be submitted to privacy@friendspace.io.

10. U.S. state disclosures

Residents of states with applicable comprehensive privacy laws may exercise the rights provided by their state, subject to exemptions and verification. The categories collected and disclosed are described in Sections 2 and 5; purposes appear in Section 4; retention criteria appear in Section 7. We will add jurisdiction-specific notices and metrics when legally required by our activities or scale.

11. International users

Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our vendors operate. Before offering the Service in a jurisdiction requiring a local representative, lawful transfer mechanism, or additional disclosure, Friendspace will implement those requirements.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy as the beta changes. We will post the new effective date and provide additional notice when legally required. Privacy questions, requests, and appeals should be directed to Friendspace LLC at privacy@friendspace.io. A public business mailing address must be added before public launch.
